The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy, but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. 看了這本小說，我受益匪淺。在我們這些人中，有許多很謙虛，但也有一些傲慢的人。這些傲慢的人有時的確令人討厭，他們把眼睛長在頭上，對其他人都不屑一顧。的確，傲慢是一種缺點，一種在環(huán)境下養(yǎng)成的性格。我們中國的孩子，從小就被父母視為掌上明珠捧著，典型的“小皇帝”。要是從小到大一直這么養(yǎng)尊處優(yōu)，怎么會不傲慢呢？因此，我覺得我們不應(yīng)該對傲慢的人產(chǎn)生偏見，而是該多反省自己，看看自己有沒有傲慢，以后自己的事也要學會自己做，不再讓父母操心，勞累了。
正如書中所說：“驕傲之心人皆有之。只要我們擁有那么一點點長處，就會覺得自己特別了不起。但其中的驕傲和虛榮雖含義相同，卻實質(zhì)不同，驕傲是種自我感覺，虛榮則需要牽扯到別人高估自己，所以，一個人擁有不含虛榮心的驕傲，這也是無可非議的�！�
